Summary
Join John for a guided photography walk in and around The Glasgow Necropolis for up to 6 photographers.
All locations are relatively easily accessed with no location being more than a 30 minute-walk from the starting point and none more than 50m elevation from the roadside.

John will guide you around the Necropolis, pointing out many of the more photogenic monuments and mausoleums, sharing anecdotes and stories as we go.
No formal photography training will be offered while on location, but John will be on hand to offer photo hints and tips and every attempt will be made to ensure each photographer has the opportunity to spend some 1-2-1 time with John during the course of the walk.

Itinerary
The day will begin just before sunrise (approx. 08:30am) on Saturday January 10th, 2026. We will meet close to Glasgow Cathedral then cross the “Bridge of Sighs” into the Necropolis; arguably Scotland’s finest example of a Victorian Garden Cemetery, just in time to watch the rising sun illuminate the nearby Cathedral.
We will spend the next three hours exploring and photographing the monuments, including one or two lesser known viewpoints of the Cathedral.
We will conclude the tour back at the “Bridge of Sighs” where attendees can either make their way into Glasgow Cathedral, visit the St. Mungo Museum Of Religious Life & Art or The Provand's Lordship, (Glasgow’s oldest house, built circa 1471).
If you would like to continue the photography theme, The Glasgow Gallery of Photography is approximately 5 minutes walk from the Cathedral (Open 12-4pm Saturdays) and Street Level Photoworks approximately 15 minutes walk (Open 12-5pm Saturdays).

Participants will be responsible for their own overnight accommodation (if required) and their own transport to and from the location.
Parking charges, lunch, snacks and any other non-specified expenses are not included in the workshop fee.
Participants will be responsible for their own insurance.

Total cost for guided workshop is £75 per person – previous workshop attendees can apply their 25% discount code.
